Finding the perfect foundation is no easy feat. If you're anything like me, you have a laundry list of requirements including full coverage and no caking. Until a few weeks ago, I didn't think a product like this existed. And to my knowledge, it didn’t. Well, until now. Just yesterday, IT Cosmetics released Confidence in A Compact ($38; ulta.com), a moisturizing and anti-aging full coverage foundation that they were generous enough to send me a sample of several weeks ago before it was available online. Like all the other products we consider featuring, I put it to the test. And here’s what happened.

Since I entered my 30s just over a year ago, something unexpected happened: for the first time in my life, I had acne! Now, I don’t mean to brag, but I was one of the lucky ones who had next-to-perfect skin all through my teens and twenties. So imagine my surprise when 3-0 rolls around, and I’m struggling to keep a clear complexion. The hydrating BB cream that I had been using just wasn’t covering the discoloration that the acne had left as a parting gift. However, the fuller coverage bases I tried were just too heavy and not giving me the kind of moisture I needed for my dry skin that was just getting drier from wrinkle-prevention products. What’s a girl to do?! So when I opened this compact, patted the sponge in foundation, and began to blend onto my skin, it was like the heavens had opened up and dropped a gift right into my hands. Not only did it even out my skin tone, I could feel the moisture being delivered right to my driest spots and it left me with a stunning dewy finish. The best part? The SPF-equipped makeup didn’t budge all day. And only after I fell in love with the out-of-this-world results, I learned that it’s also the first-ever, clinically shown anti-aging solid serum. Seriously, there is nothing more I could ask for in a foundation. I’ll be sticking with this one for the long haul.
